Red Giant Forms Accretion Disk | SpaceSim

A red giant (initialized with Betelgeuse but significantly changed) is torn apart by a supermassive black hole (modeled after Sgr A*). The simulation of 10,000 particles ran with the SPH solver at a time-step of 10 seconds, and is run for 16 days and 17 hours of in-simulation time. That's 415 hours of simulation time for 1 minute of video (a bit longer than this clip).
